Listen, Imagine, Act: Building a Community of Thinkers and Doers

When a school or district moves to personalize learning, educators want to engage their learners in deeper thinking as they build habits for success in learning and in life. The process of educating a district toward becoming a community in which thinking is valued and not just given lip service, requires establishing a variety of relationships, each intricately dependent. In this session, we will describe how schools and districts become communities of inquiry where questioning, problem posing, and innovative practices are explored, designed, and implemented. As we build such a community, we are providing space for the generative experience to reimagine learning. We will also include reflections and tips from leaders in schools and districts featuring their practices and the benefits from taking the time to build the culture.
